Chandana's party

Last  Friday, Chandana, my best friend threw a party. I, Anne, Daniya and Alaina (she is one of our classmates) were invited.

Daniya is leaving Riyadh and going to India on May 9th. We were all glad to hear she would be coming because Daniya was one of our best friends and we all loved her a lot. She was really sweet and kind. We would miss her.

Anne was not able to come because she had to go somewhere, but all others came.

When I arrived, Dania was already there and she was outside with Chandana and her father, waiting for me. We all began to chat excitedly.

Chandana lived in an STC compound and there is only one word to describe it. It was HUMONGOUS!!

It was a pretty neat compound, with a clubhouse, swimming pool and 4 parks. There were many villas.

Alaina arrived half- an- hour late. When she came, Dania whipped out her camera and told us to stand together so that she could take a photo. We made funny faces in front of the camera and Dania was laughing so much that most of the pictures she took became blurred!

Chandana’s house had a huge tent attached at the back. It was as big as the roof. The dining table was also inside the tent.  We had snacks as pastries, tuna sandwiches and juice.  Then we grabbed an umbrella and went outside to explore the compound.

There was cool breeze outside and it was totally refreshing when it touched our skin. Chandana told us she had many friends in the compound.

When we were outside, it began to drizzle. OMG! We quickly opened the umbrella and walked together. Thankfully, all four of us fit underneath the umbrella. We walked back to Chandana’s house and ran upstairs.

We decided to play Dark Room (a game in which the catcher will stand outside the room with the door closed and everybody else will hide somewhere in the room. Then the catcher has to come in and has to try to find us with the lights switched off.) Daniya was the catcher, then Alaina. I was the captain, which meant that I had to switch off the light and yell to tell Daniya to come inside.

After the game, we had dinner and then we played on Chandana’s iPad. We then caught her pet fishes with a net. Lucky, Chandana’s younger brother, stood watching us.

Time flew fast and soon it was time for our parents to pick us. We hugged Chandana, thanked her parents for the lovely party, and went home, beaming.
